Course Requirements

Electronic Device

Participants must have access to an electronic device with serviceable Wi-Fi, preferably a laptop computer or desktop computer.
Certain course activities will be more difficult to complete on a cell phone.

Participation

Participation is required.

Participants must be able to complete all pre-work, as instructed by the facilitator or stated in the assignment syllabus. 

Course Discussion

Participation in breakout rooms and discussions is required.
Participants will be expected to discuss pre-work studies prior to the following session for class dialogue.

Virtual Classroom Etiquette

Participants should be punctual, fully present, and prepared for all class session to gain the full program experience and engage in meaningful ways such as turning their camera on and interacting with guest speakers and other cohort members. 
  • Participants are expected to be on camera and attentive during the entire session without distractions.

  • Try to avoid environments that could disrupt your ability to learn or participate with your peers.

  • Use hand raising feature to indicate that you have a question or want to make a statement.

  • Participants must remain on mute when they are not speaking and show respect when others have the floor. 

  • When feedback is solicited, be mindful and respectful of your commentary. 

Attendance Policy

Participants MUST attend 6 out of 8 class sessions to receive a certificate of completion and be considered to pitch. 
  • The instructor will begin admitting participants in Zoom 5 minutes before 4:30 PM and will expect you to stay on camera the entire 2 hours unless you've gotten approval to do otherwise. 
  • Attendance will be taken at 4:45 PM. You will be considered absent if you are more than 15 minutes late. 
  • Over 30 minutes late to any session will count as an absence. 
  • Communicate your absence prior to class, unless you have extenuating circumstances that prevent you from doing otherwise.

Qualifying for Pitch Night

ALL ITEMS MUST BE COMPLETED TO QUALIFY TO PITCH

  • Attend 6 out of 8 class sessions - including pitch practice and follow-up if absent. 
  • Complete all work as instructed by the facilitator or state in the syllabus.
  • Submit a completed lean canvas. 
  • Attend at least 2 mentoring sessions before pitch competition. 
  • Complete end of cohort feedback survey.
  • Join Slack cohort/alumni group. 
  • Submit a completed lean canvas (template and instructions provided).
  • Must submit a pitch deck for Pitch Night (pitch guide will be provided).
  • Must attend pitch practice.
