Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Mentor?

A business mentor is someone who has experience and expertise in a certain field or industry and who offers guidance, support and feedback to a less experienced person who wants to learn from them.
A business mentor can help a mentee to set and achieve goals, overcome challenges, develop skills and network with other professionals.
A business mentor can also provide emotional support and motivation to the mentee, as well as share their insights and perspectives on various aspects of the business world.

What is an Advisor?

A business advisor is a professional who provides professional guidance and support to entrepreneurs.
A business advisor can help with various aspects of running a business, such as planning, strategy, marketing, finance, operations, legal, and compliance.
A business advisor can also help with solving problems, identifying opportunities, and achieving goals.

What is the difference and why do I need both?

A mentor and a business advisor are both valuable resources for entrepreneurs, but they have different roles and functions.
A mentor is someone who provides guidance, support, and feedback to help the entrepreneur grow personally and professionally and has a long-term and personal relationship with the entrepreneur.
A business advisor is someone who offers specific advice, expertise, and solutions to help the entrepreneur solve a particular problem or achieve a specific goal.
A business advisor usually has a short-term or project-based relationship with the entrepreneur, like a program such as this incubator.
The difference between a mentor and a business advisor is that a mentor helps the entrepreneur develop their skills and potential, while a business advisor helps the entrepreneur solve specific challenges and achieve specific objectives.

I am meeting my Advisor now, when will I meet my Mentor?

You will get to meet your mentor in the second half of the program.
When we return from the winter break you will be paired with your mentor. You will continue to meet with them throughout the second half of the program and possibly beyond.
